In the first months of 2013, I was attempting to save up every scrap and penny I had to procure a Super Jumbo Cowboy guitar from Rhema Guitar Luthier, Bill Hodge. The guitar was dubbed "Rhapsody", and every detail of it was basically at my request and childlike whim. It was to be the guitar to end all guitars for me, the "dream guitar" of my imagination, based upon every guitar I'd ever coveted. Well, as the year began, money troubles began piling up, and there was a week or two when my wife and I realized that this wasn't gonna happen. To say that I was sad is an understatement. However, I trudged on, still hopeful of some faint glimmer in the future...Then I wrote this song one night.
My wife inquired as to what I was working on, so I showed her. It was then, in mysterious fashion and intrigue, that she told me, "I don't care what happens, you have to get that guitar...we will find some way to manage".
What it was that pushed her to the brink of desperation on my behalf, could be debated for years, but no matter. I love my wife. We made it out of the money slump. I got the Rhapsody.
